Moonshine - demo
Moonshine was written and recorded in December 2025, when
Rachel (flyawayrage) entered another IBD flare. The song discusses the hardships of life, and the feeling of losing yourself due to illness.

The violin melody in the 3rd verse of Smokin Gun is a continuation of Charles Ives’s 2nd Violin Sonata, which was the finale Rachel (flyawayrage) performed during her college senior recital.
Charles Ives ends the sonata in the middle of a melodic phrase, leaving the listener yearning for something more. The melody is a common folk melody, Nettleton (“Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”), which Rachel frequently sang in church as a young girl. In verse 3 of Smokin Gun, Rachel continues this violin melody where Ives ended it, signaling her return to music as a solo artist, and the continuation of her music career.
